Baseball Recap: Vista del Lago Comes Up Short

After flying high against Perris last Thursday, Vista del Lago came back down to earth. The Ravens lost 25-3 to the Rancho Christian Eagles on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-0 defeat on April 3rd.

Vista del Lago has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Rancho Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vista del Lago will take on Hillcrest at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Ravens' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rancho Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Rancho Verde at 3:15 p.m. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
