Softball Recap: New London's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

New London dropped their record down to 13-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 11-1 to the Crestview Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

New London saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Rowland, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Natalie Weaver also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Crestview, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.

On Crestview's side, they let PJ Endicott and Carlee Crider run wild. Endicott went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Crider went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Crider has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Hillman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

New London didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-6 victory against Bucyrus on the 10th. As for Crestview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 21-0 win against Willard on the 14th.
