Football Recap: Christopher Armenta's Menacing Defense Leads Lower Dauphin over Mifflin County

Lower Dauphin won the last time they faced Mifflin County and Hunter Strohm did his part to make sure it happened again. The Falcons walked away with a 35-26 victory over the Huskies on Saturday thanks in part to Strohm, who rushed for 253 yards and three TDs. Lower Dauphin is undefeated when Strohm posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lower Dauphin's defense and their five sacks. Christopher Armenta was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Mifflin County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brandon Kauffman, who rushed for 65 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Chase Hartung was another key player, throwing for 202 yards and two TDs.

The win made it two in a row for Lower Dauphin and bumps their season record up to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points over those games. As for Mifflin County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Lower Dauphin will square off against Waynesboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mifflin County, they will be playing at home against Gettysburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
