Baseball Recap: St. Elizabeth Comes Up Short

St. Elizabeth started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Hodgson Vo-Tech. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Nicholas Mancini made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Zachary Tolvasia was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

St. Elizabeth has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-6.

Coming up, St. Elizabeth will face off against Tower Hill at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vikings are facing the Hillers at the right time seeing as the Hillers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, they will challenge Archmere Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
