St. Anne-Pacelli faced Midtown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Vikings fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Malia Resnick paced St. Anne-Pacelli's offense, picking up 17 kills. Resnick got some help from Anna Do and her 25 assists. Finally, Elly Jane Haag and Samantha Siyanbola kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Among those leading the charge was Abby Taylor, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven games. Estelle Leege also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

St. Anne-Pacelli's loss dropped their record down to 15-2. As for Midtown, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

St. Anne-Pacelli didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences on the 23rd. As for Midtown, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Columbus on the 23rd.
