Soccer Game Preview: Tanque Verde vs. Douglas

The Tanque Verde Hawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Douglas Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Tanque Verde took on Thatcher on Thursday. Tanque Verde fell just short of Thatcher by a score of 4-3. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Douglas brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They blew past Safford 6-1 on Wednesday. That five goal margin sets a new team best for Douglas this season.

Their offense was hitting Safford from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Rivera Manuel led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Tanque Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Douglas, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-1.
