Softball Preview: Forsyth Panthers vs. Clever Blue Jays
Forsyth is 9-1 against Clever since March of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Forsyth Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Clever Blue Jays at 5:15 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Forsyth was able to grind out a solid victory over Marionville, taking the game 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for Forsyth.
Lindsey Essary was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Essary was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with an RBI.
In other batting news, Zoe White was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, a triple, and a double. Taylor Braden was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Clever can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past Billings 13-7. Considering Clever has won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Forsyth's record is now 14-16. As for Clever, the win got them back to even at 14-14.
