Baseball Recap: Guyer Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Guyer won the last time they faced Bridgeland and things went their way on Saturday too. The Guyer Wildcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bridgeland Bears, sneaking past 4-3.

Braeden Waggoner tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Guyer's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Ingram, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Isaac Calderon was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Guyer's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Bridgeland, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-2.

Coming up, Guyer will face off against Lone Star at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bridgeland, they will square off against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
