The Jesuit Crusaders will take on the Crater Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Jesuit earned a 7-2 win over Oregon City. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.
Presley Umbdenstock and Mason Rethwill did most of the damage at the plate: Umbdenstock went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Rethwill went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Olivia Hildreth was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Jesuit hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Crater posted their closest victory since May 30, 2025 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past North Eugene 4-3.
Hayden Kenyon was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Kenyon wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Cochran, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Espn Ostroskie also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Crater, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Jesuit hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Crater struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Jesuit beat Crater 4-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
