Gregori is a perfect 10-0 against Pitman since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Jaguars will look to defend their home field against the Pride at 2:00 p.m. Gregori is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Pitman is facing Gregori at the wrong time: Gregori suffered their first home loss of the season on Wednesday and they're likely out for redemption. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 15-9.
Gregori got a big performance out of Ariana Aguirre, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Pacheco, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Pitman not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 1st. They put the hurt on Downey with a sharp 13-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pride.
Elyssa Alcazar looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Tatiana Rios was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Ivy Butler was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Pitman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Gregori's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Pitman, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 5-10.
Pitman's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gregori has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .478. It's a different story for Pitman, though, as they've only averaged .365. Will they be able to contain Gregori's hitters?
Everything went Gregori's way against Pitman in their previous meeting back in March, as Gregori made off with a 12-2 win. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Pride have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
