Baseball Recap: Nordhoff Takes a Loss

Nordhoff suffered their closest loss since March 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Channel Islands Raiders by a score of 7-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 back in March.

Nordhoff saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johnny Perez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Perez has become a key player for the Rangers: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-11 otherwise.

Nordhoff has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Channel Islands, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nordhoff will venture away from home to face off against St. Bonaventure at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Channel Islands, they will challenge Kearny at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
