Softball Game Preview: Mountain View Thunder vs. La Center Wildcats

The Mountain View Thunder will head out on the road to square off against the La Center Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Mountain View has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mountain View is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Thursday. They lost 26-7 to Skyview. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Mountain View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Palomino, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was Palomino's first of the season.

Meanwhile, La Center came up short against Woodland on Friday, falling 14-5. The Wildcats have struggled against the Beavers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Nellie Van Tol was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Lauren Baker was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

La Center's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mountain View, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

La Center's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Mountain View has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game.
