Baseball Recap: Samson Takes a Loss

Samson extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Slocomb Red Tops. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Slocomb's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Samson: they've now won seven in a row.

For Slocomb's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Goodman, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Samson will take on Florala at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Slocomb, they will square off against Cottonwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
