Palatine hadn't done well against Fremd recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Pirates came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vikings, sneaking past 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 26-24, 26-24.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 12-16. As for Fremd, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record this season.

Palatine and Fremd will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Pirates see the court they'll take on Lakes at 12:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Fremd, their break will end when they face Fenton at 5:30 p.m. on the 26th.
