Volleyball Recap: Leopold Wildcats vs. Winona Wildcats
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Leopold fell just short of Winona by a score of 3-2. That makes it the first time this season Leopold has let down their home crowd.
Leopold wouldn't go down easily and took Winona into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-19, 25-11, 16-25, 15-11.
Rylie Schreiner paced Leopold's offense, picking up 32 kills. Schreiner got some help from Ashtyn Van De Ven and her 39 assists. Piper Lincoln controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Leopold's loss dropped their record down to 26-7-2. As for Winona, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 32-4.
As of now, neither Leopold nor Winona have any future games scheduled.
