Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Oilers vs. Dow Chargers

Mt. Pleasant is 0-10 against Dow since March of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Mt. Pleasant Oilers will host the Dow Chargers at 5:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Mt. Pleasant was beaten by Heritage 59-24. The contest marked the Oilers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Dow earned a 62-54 win over Freeland on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Chargers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Falcons are ranked 18th).

Dow is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Mt. Pleasant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.
