Poquoson is 9-1 against Bruton since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Islanders will square off against the Panthers. Poquoson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Poquoson took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let New Kent get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Poquoson's winning goal came courtesy of Ashley Groseth.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Bruton rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Warriors 4-0. The victory was some much needed relief for Bruton as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Bruton's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Poquoson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Poquoson beat Bruton by a goal when the teams last played on May 9th, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Islanders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
