Softball Recap: Bethlehem Catholic Hawks vs. Wilson Area Warriors

Bethlehem Catholic had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 4-14 to make it four. They lost 7-0 to the Wilson Area Warriors. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Mikaila Brooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bethlehem Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Borsuk, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Leah Bender also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Bethlehem Catholic and Wilson Area could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Hawks (ranked 338th) will meet Northampton (ranked 58th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Wilson Area will face off against Notre Dame-Green Pond at 6:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (359 vs. 170).
