Soccer Game Preview: Immokalee vs. Gateway

The Immokalee Indians will head out to take on the Gateway Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Immokalee will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Immokalee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Charlotte get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.

Immokalee hit the Fightin' Tarpons with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brihan Rodrguez (2), Diego Martinez, and Jose Berduo-Perez.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Gateway ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Eagles who were credited with the victory. Gateway got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Palmetto Ridge's three. The win continues a trend for Gateway in their matchups with Palmetto Ridge: they've now won three in a row.

Immokalee's victory bumped their record up to 10-6-4. As for Gateway, their win bumped their record up to 15-5-4.

Immokalee beat Gateway by a goal in their previous meeting on January 5th, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
