Basketball Recap: Stuart Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Stuart entered their game against Anselmo-Merna on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Stuart Broncos took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Anselmo-Merna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayley Klein, who went 7 of 8 en route to 14 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Klein a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Lily Thornton, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 14 points.

Stuart's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Anselmo-Merna, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stuart will square off against Boyd County on Thursday. As for Anselmo-Merna, they will face off against Chambers/Wheeler Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
