Flag Football Recap: Burroughs Skates Past Village Christian with Ease

While Burroughs put up plenty of points on Monday, the same can't be said for Village Christian. The Bears claimed a resounding 33-0 victory over the Crusaders. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bears' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Among those leading the charge was Karisma Mendez, who threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 43 yards. That's the most passing touchdowns she has posted since back in September. Alyssa Prachasaisoradej was another key player, rushing for 40 yards and one score.

Burroughs' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12. As for Village Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Burroughs is set to take on their familiar foe San Dimas at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bears 13.9, the Saints 10.1) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Village Christian will square off against rival Notre Dame (SO) at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
