Greenup County has gone 6-1 against West Carter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Musketeers will challenge the Comets at 6:00 p.m. Greenup County will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Greenup County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Blazer by a score of 15-10 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Musketeers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Hunter Holbrook made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Holbrook was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Ty Logan and Kasey Gammon did most of the damage at the plate: Logan scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Gammon scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Gammon continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Luke Boggs also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Greenup County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.8.

Meanwhile, West Carter unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Russell, falling 17-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

West Carter now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Greenup County, their record is now 8-5.

Greenup County took their win against West Carter when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Musketeers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
