Softball Recap: Johnson City's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Johnson City can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sidney Team an 8-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2022.

Not much got past Julianna Berru-Brown, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Sidney off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Annabel Burke, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Gianna Harrington, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Johnson City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Johnson City's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Sidney, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Johnson City and Sidney will both be playing Oneonta the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Yellowjackets at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Team will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
