Recap: Eagle Rock Eagles vs. Lincoln Tigers
It was a good run, but The Eagle Rock Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Lincoln by a score of 49-47. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (46), Eagle Rock still had to take the loss.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reilly Brousseau, who threw for 456 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Brousseau is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Barry Weatherspoon, who gained 208 total yards and two touchdowns.
Kenneth Brown got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Jacob Gomez, who threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns.
Eagle Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Eagle Rock will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. As for Lincoln, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
