Volleyball Recap: Odyssey Institute Takes a Loss

Odyssey Institute lost against Benjamin Franklin back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Minotaur lost 3-0 to the Chargers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Minotaur have suffered since March 4th.

Odyssey Institute was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-22, 25-20.

Francisco Orozco paced Odyssey Institute's offense, picking up four kills. Orozco got some help from Max Diaz-Gonzalez and his five assists. Orozco was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Benjamin Franklin found their leader in sophomore Brigg DeMarco, who had 36 assists and five digs. Those 36 assists set a new season-high mark for DeMarco.

Odyssey Institute has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Benjamin Franklin, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Odyssey Institute has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against St. Mary's on the 3rd. As for Benjamin Franklin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Northwest Christian on the 3rd.
