Soccer Game Preview: Charlotte Christian vs. Charlotte Country Day School

The Charlotte Christian Knights will square off against the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlotte Country Day School took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Charlotte Christian, who comes in off a win.

Charlotte Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Grace Academy a 7-0 shutout on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what Charlotte Christian needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Their offense was hitting Grace Academy from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Maddie Efird led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Country Day School lost 4-1 to Providence Day on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Charlotte Country Day School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Providence Day are ranked second).

Charlotte Country Day School's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Charlotte Christian, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-6.

Charlotte Christian suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Charlotte Country Day School in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
