Volleyball Game Preview: Downey Knights vs. Turlock Bulldogs

Downey has gone a perfect 5-0 against Turlock recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Knights will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

If Enochs wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Downey, they should've done a better job of containing Miguel Garcia Gonzalez. The Knights were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles on Tuesday thanks in part to Garcia Gonzalez, who had 12 digs and five assists. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

While Downey might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Enochs scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 26-24, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Turlock had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Jaguars as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Bulldogs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 26th.

Turlock walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-11, 25-21, 25-17.

Downey's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Turlock, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Downey took their victory against Turlock in their previous meeting on April 1st by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
