Basketball Recap: Knox Comes Up Short

After flying high against Culver Community last Tuesday, Knox came back down to earth. The Knox Redskins took a blow against the Triton Trojans on Friday, falling 55-26. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 437th, while the Trojans are ranked 187th).

Despite the defeat, Knox had strong showings from Teagen Johnson, who posted six points and seven boards, and Chase Fletcher, who scored seven points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Fletcher a new career-high in rebounds.

Knox's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Triton, they pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Knox wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-47 victory against Elwood on the 1st. As for Triton, they will square off against Oregon-Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Triton is facing Oregon-Davis at the right time seeing as Oregon-Davis is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
