After a string of five wins, Raymond/South Bend's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Willapa Valley Vikings. The Ravens were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-14, 20-25, 25-16.

Raymond/South Bend lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Olivia White-Kelley, who had 21 digs.

Willapa Valley found their leader in sophomore Tylar Keeton, who had 17 kills, nine digs, four blocks, and two aces. Another player making a difference was Lauren Matlock, who had 23 assists.

Raymond/South Bend's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Willapa Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Raymond/South Bend and Willapa Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Ravens (ranked 120th) will meet Ilwaco (ranked 293rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Willapa Valley will face off against Ocosta at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (108 vs. 275).
