Basketball Game Preview: Hozho Academy Wolves vs. Dulce Hawks

The Hozho Academy Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Dulce Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hozho Academy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Hozho Academy made easy work of Reserve and carried off a 56-31 win. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 23 points or more this season.

Hozho Academy found their leader in freshman Kaleb Bowannie, who posted 20 points and five steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for Bowannie. The team also got some help courtesy of Abraham Azua, who scored eight points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dulce). They came out on top against Laguna Acoma by a score of 66-59 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Dulce.

Hozho Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.5 points. As for Dulce, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
