While Mountlake Terrace's win against Lynnwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Mountlake Terrace had just enough and edged out Lynnwood 2-1 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted since May 7, 2024.

Layton Rongholt tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Mountlake Terrace's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Owen Meek, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Mountlake Terrace and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Lynnwood, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountlake Terrace will venture away from home to face off against Edmonds-Woodway at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountlake Terrace's pitchers better be ready for this one: Edmonds-Woodway has averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Lynnwood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Shorewood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shorewood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Lynnwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
