Basketball Game Preview: Crofton Warriors vs. Battle Creek Braves

Crofton hasn't had much luck against Battle Creek recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Crofton Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Battle Creek Braves at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Crofton is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 70-37 loss at the hands of Ponca. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-16.

Despite their loss, Crofton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Blayke Skillings, who posted 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. Skillings continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Allen, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, Battle Creek lost to Ponca at home by a 63-47 margin on Saturday. The Braves have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Crofton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Battle Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Crofton came up short against Battle Creek in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 44-39. Can Crofton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
