After losing to Morgan Township the last time they met, Highland decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trojans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cherokees on Saturday, sneaking past 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.
Cash Washick was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
Highland hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
The victory got Highland back to even at 13-13. As for Morgan Township, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-19-1.
Coincidentally, Highland and Morgan Township will both be playing Kouts the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Mustangs & Fillies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cherokees will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
