Recap: Avon Braves vs. Geneseo Blue Devils
This season hasn't been kind to the Avon Braves, who are still winless after their eighth match. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 62-36 walloping at the hands of Geneseo on Friday. Avon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.
Despite the defeat, Avon saw an underclassman step up: Maria Geary scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Geary scored a full 36.1% of Avon's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Avon's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Geneseo, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Avon will head out on the road to face off against Pavilion at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Geneseo, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Livonia at 7:00 p.m.
