Softball Recap: Green Canyon Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Green Canyon had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 7-15 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Jordan Beetdiggers 29-12. The Wolves' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.

Bailey Taylor and Kylie Olson did most of the damage at the plate: Taylor went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while Olson went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those five runs gave Olson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hailey Groll, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Green Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

As for Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. They have struggled against Green Canyon recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

On Jordan's side, Kanani Archibeque and Elinor Williams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Archibeque went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Williams went 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Williams continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Taylor Allen was another key player, earning three runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, Green Canyon will face off against Bear River at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Jordan, they will challenge Stansbury at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Beetdiggers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stallions have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
