Baseball Recap: Brooks' Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Brooks had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Lindblom on Monday. Brooks was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Lindblom. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-0 last Friday.

Justin Slaughter made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Slaughter was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, JC Rodriguez looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Ameer Rule was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. McKinley Boatright also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Brooks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory (which was Brooks' fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Lindblom, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-7.
