On Thursday, Ennis faced Jefferson in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Ennis Mustangs walked away with a 46-36 victory over the Jefferson Panthers. The Mustangs are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 15 straight.

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson lost, don't look at Ryian Eveland. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. Eveland has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cameron Toney, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Ennis' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Jefferson, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-3.
