Basketball Recap: Strayhorn Comes Up Short

Strayhorn lost against East Union back in February of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs had to suffer through a 77-8 loss at the hands of the Urchins. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Urchins are ranked 31st).

Strayhorn's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for East Union, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Strayhorn and East Union will both be playing Myrtle the next time they take the court. The Urchins will host the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
