Recap: Washington County Golden Hawks vs. Josey Eagles

The Washington County Golden Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 57-39 fall against Josey. Washington County has struggled against Josey recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Washington County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jade Kitchens, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Makayla Dunn was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Josey found their leader in underclassman Kerri Fluellen, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Fluellen is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of KeAsia Henderson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 assists.

Washington County's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Josey, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Washington County will be playing in front of their home fans against Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Butler will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Josey, they will head out on the road to challenge Laney at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Laney: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Josey has snatched up nine consecutive wins on the road.
