Preview: Carson Cougars vs. South Rowan Raiders
After three games on the road, Carson is heading back home. They will take on the South Rowan Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carson comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Carson suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 65-17 loss at the hands of Northwest Cabarrus. Carson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-11.
Brooklyn Mcbride was Carson's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Caylee Sheets held things down on the boards with four rebounds.
Meanwhile, South Rowan was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 53-48 to Lake Norman Charter. South Rowan has struggled against Lake Norman Charter recently, as their match on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Carson's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.2 points per game. As for South Rowan, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
