Basketball Recap: Taylor County Comes Up Short

Taylor County was the 61-56 winner over North Florida Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Taylor County Bulldogs fell just short of the North Florida Christian Eagles by a score of 59-56 on Thursday.

North Florida Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jed Dickens led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Riggan, who posted 17 points in addition to seven boards and six assists.

Taylor County now has a losing record at 6-7. As for North Florida Christian, their record now sits at 5-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylor County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wakulla at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Taylor County is facing Wakulla at the right time seeing as Wakulla is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for North Florida Christian, they will head out to take on Leon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
