Baseball Recap: Vestaburg Victorious

Vestaburg owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They came out on top against the Coleman Comets by a score of 4-0. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Comets on Monday, they had to take a 5-1 defeat.

Jansen Scholer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Scholer wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Allbee, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Vestaburg's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Coleman, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Vestaburg is set to take on their familiar foe Montabella at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Coleman will face off against rival Merrill at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
