Football Recap: Claremore Comes Up Short

If Claremore was riding high fresh off their 58-0 takedown of Memorial last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Zebras had to suffer through a 55-10 loss at the hands of the Del City Eagles. The Zebras were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-10.

Kellen Gaede threw for 92 yards and one touchdown. Graham Williams was his top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Cecil Garrett rushed for 68 yards.

Claremore has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Del City, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Claremore is set to face off against their familiar foe Will Rogers College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Del City will challenge rival Pryor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 10.4, the Tigers 11.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
