Softball Recap: Clarksville Generals vs. Salem Lions        
        
		
            
 Clarksville has not done well against Salem recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Thursday. The Clarksville Generals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  5-4  win over the Salem Lions. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Clarksville.
  Aaliyah Watts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits. Those seven  innings set a new season-high mark for her.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Kaitlin Bishop, who  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI.  Bailey Senior was another key contributor,  going 2-for-2 with two  RBI.
 On Salem's side,  Gabby Hypes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Salem  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clarksville struck out 13 times.
 Clarksville's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
 Clarksville will play host again  on Friday to welcome Southwestern, where first pitch is scheduled  at 5:30  p.m. Southwestern will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  win, something Clarksville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Salem, they will head out on the road to  face off against  New Albany at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday.
