Softball Game Preview: Bellport Clippers vs. Centereach Cougars

The Bellport Clippers will take on the Centereach Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Bellport and 11 for Centereach dating back to last season.

Bellport fell victim to West Islip and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Lions.

Bellport saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angely Banegas, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Deer Park hit Centereach with a four-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Falcons, falling 10-1.

Bellport's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Centereach, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Bellport skirted past Centereach 3-1 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Clippers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
