Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Normal West). They breezed by the Peoria Lions to the tune of 61-22 on Thursday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Lions are ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Normal West's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12. As for Peoria, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Normal West will take on East Peoria at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. As for Peoria, they will square off against Orangeville at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Orangeville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
