Basketball Recap: Potomac Falls Comes Up Short

Potomac Falls and Riverside squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Potomac Falls had to settle for second. They lost to the Riverside Ram on the road by a 77-60 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (57), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Potomac Falls still got an impressive performance from Troy Hooper, who went 6-for-7 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Hooper has posted since back in December of 2024. Adit Apte was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Riverside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Ntiamoah, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 13 points along with five assists and five boards. Ntiamoah is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joell Basue, who went 8-for-9 to rack up 17 points and five rebounds.

Potomac Falls' loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Riverside, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-1.

Looking ahead, Potomac Falls will welcome Briar Woods at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Potomac Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Briar Woods likes a good challenge. Riverside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
