Basketball Recap: Turner Comes Up Short

Turner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 66-41 to the West Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Chargers are ranked 44th).

When it comes to explaining why Turner lost, don't look at Colin Pittman. Despite the final result, he en route to 15 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Pittman a new career-high in field goal percentage (70%). Mekhi Follick was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Turner's record now sits at 3-16. As for West, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Turner will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lansing. West has already played their next matchup (against Basehor-Linwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
