Soccer Recap: Pebble Hills Comes Up Short

After flying high against Socorro last Friday, Pebble Hills came back down to earth. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Eastlake Falcons who were credited with the victory on Tuesday. The Eastlake Falcons got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Pebble Hills Spartans' four. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Falcons are ranked 82nd).

Pebble Hills' goal came courtesy of Nadia Soto, who's now up to seven this season.

Pebble Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Eastlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which somehow still isn't as good as their 7-1 record this season.

Coming up, Pebble Hills will head out on the road to square off against Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.9 goals per game this season. As for Eastlake, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eastlake take on the Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
