Basketball Game Preview: Cartersville Hurricanes vs. Dalton Catamounts

Cartersville and Dalton are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Cartersville Hurricanes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dalton Catamounts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Cartersville turned things around against Woodland on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 71-46 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Hurricanes have posted since December 17, 2024.

Cartersville can attribute much of their success to Wyatt Thomason, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds, and Kyron McClendon, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points. The contest was Thomason's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zac Tolbert, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Dalton earned a 62-49 win over Hiram on Thursday.

Dalton's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Cartersville, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
